I have a passion for plants and insects and am always fascinated about the way they interact with each other. I was working at the Adelaide Zoo as an educator when I was reintroduced to these particular creatures - the Spiny Leaf insects. Fascinating and incredibly gentle creatures, they were housed with sprigs of freshly cut Eucalyptus, on which they fed. Around the same time, I came across a beautiful Eucalypt species with round leaves known as Baby Blue. While I can’t say if the Spiny Leaf insects eat this particular type of leaf, they look lovely together.
