School Visits & Book WeekFun, educational and interactive, sessions involve discussing the process of illustrating a book and hands on drawing workshops, focusing on creating engaging characters from the imagination.
Workshops and sessions can be tailored for Kindy/Reception to Year 7 and above. Sessions can be themed on request to fit with school events, projects and curriculum. Custom ProgramsCustom programs can also be curated, designed in partnership with schools for more detailed and technical learning for upper primary to secondary students.
Sessions focus on learning the fundamentals of shape language, layout and design, to create engaging characters, creatures and landscapes from the imagination and real life. The importance of narrative storytelling in illustration is discussed and potential careers within the arts and creative industry are explored. Programs can run from a single day workshop to term length programs and can accomodate both traditional and digital drawing platforms. Recommended ages for these workshops are years 3/4 and above. |

Lauren inspired the students to create character images using techniques involving identifying words associated with emotions, character shapes that can be used to represent personalities, how construction lines are used to draw a character, and representing characters visually based on their roles within plots.
